Lukoil says signs sale of refinery on Sicily to G.O.I. Energy
MOSCOW, Jan 9 (PRIME) -- Russian oil producer Lukoil has signed the sale of its Isab refinery on Sicily to G.O.I. Energy and plans to close the deal until April 2023, the company said in a statement on Monday.
"PJSC Lukoil announces that Litasco S.A., 100% subsidiary of Lukoil, and G.O.I. Energy Limited reached an agreement on the sale of Isab S.r.L. to G.O.I. Energy. The transaction is planned to be completed by the end of March 2023 upon fulfilment of certain conditions precedent including receipt of necessary approvals of competent authorities, particularly the Italian government," Lukoil said.
The refinery may lose fuel after the E.U. has introduced the sixth package of sanctions that includes a ban on Russian fuel imports on December 5 after which the Council of Ministers of Italy approved an order to bail the refinery out.
